Augustine Boakye began his career with the West African Football Academy (WAFA) in the Ghana Premier League before moving to Austrian club Wolfsberger AC in 2021, progressing through their reserve side to the first team. In 2024 he signed for AS Saint-Étienne in France. A versatile attacking midfielder, he is among the squad''s World Cup debutants and is seen as a creative option who could be deployed further forward in a number 10 role.
