Journey to the top
The most experienced of Ghana''s three goalkeepers, Lawrence Ati-Zigi began his career with Red Bull Ghana before moving to Austria''s Red Bull Salzburg in January 2015, initially loaned to feeder club FC Liefering. He moved to French side Sochaux in 2017 before joining Swiss Super League club St. Gallen in 2020, where he remains the long-serving number one. Capped at Ghana under-17 and under-20 level, he made his senior international debut in June 2018 against Iceland and was Ghana''s starting goalkeeper at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar — making this his second World Cup appearance.
